belated father's day post...

we had a pretty low-key day...which was a nice change of pace from the months of april, may and june! lane had just returned from 6 days of jr. high camp so to say he was tired was an understatement.
after church, we picked up arby's. lane attempted to eat his food, but canon was determined to play baseball at that moment. he misses lane so much when he's gone. i'm no good at being lane's substitute. ledger also was most content sitting with daddy! canon insisted on lane wearing the ball cap. he threw a mild fit when he took it off.
the night before, lane was out of town so the boys and i worked on a special project. canon loved painting his hand then stamping it. ledger on the other hand didn't mind, but made me work extra hard to open his fingers long enough to stamp them...whew. i thought it turned out cute.
after everyone taking a big 'ol fat nap, we headed to wal-mart. lane picked himself out a watermelon for the occasion. he loves to get the ice cream scoop and make watermelon balls. these containers were gone by the next evening. he says he has no self-control when it comes to watermelon!
that evening lane got to do his favorite thing of the week...mow! it was out of control since we had been gone and busy the week before that.cute canon story... canon got a mower for his birthday. lane said "ok, daddy's going to go mow now." canon went and got his mower, and stood by the back door. he's too sweet!

i'm so thankful that lane is the daddy he is. our boys are incredibly blessed to have such a patient, fun, loving dad. what a beautiful example they have! happy father's day, lane!

I have pictures of Jacob mowing with Kenneth when he was little and had a little lawnmower. Too Cute! Hope Ledger is feeling better! We miss you guys! It seems like we haven't seen you for a long time.

my nephew has that same mower and he LOVES to "help" his daddy or his papa mow the lawn! :)
