baby shower projects...

ok, so i'm terrible about getting something in my head, and i don't stop thinking about it until it's come to pass. i was on etsy.com, and saw this cute idea. i love personalized things, especially for a baby. lane's brother and his wife are having a baby girl, ella day, later this month. we are so excited to meet her! so here's what i did. i bought a package of white onesies and an 1/8 of a yard of different fabrics. you also need this stuff called "wunder-under." it binds the fabric to the onesie.

lane helped me trace an "e" on the fabric. i then ironed the "wunder-under" onto the back of it.

next, i cut out the "e"...

then i followed the instructions on the "wunder-under" to adhere the "e" to the onesie...

this is what they ended up looking like (i put 2 on the bottom)...

i needed to sew around the edges to secure it, so i borrowed my mother-in-law's machine. that was a disaster! she has a really fancy, pedal-less machine. after messing up one of them, i decided to sew them by hand. that just took forever, so sweet dawn sewed the remaining three on her machine for me. they turned out so cute!

this is baby ella's bedding. i love pink and green, and, of course, polka dots! i thought i would make something to put on her wall. i bought an "e" wooden initial, some paint, and rhinestones at hobby lobby.

Pink & Lime Paisley...

this is what it ended up looking like when i was finished. take about 1/4 of the stones off and that's what it looks like now! i was like "here is your gift. now, i have to take it with me to fix it." oh well, they were fun projects to work on. girl stuff is so cute...

GREAT IDEAS!! I like to look through Etsy too for ideas on how to make my own. Forget buying them made...it says something when you make it yourself. Very cute! By the way, you can go to etsy and enter grab bag and you can buy a lot of craft supplies...buttons, rhinestones...and more for a very low cost.

Good instructions, Kelli! I'm going to do this on a canvas bag for her sister. So excited! Hope it turns out as well as yours did!
