knox at 3 months...

Photobucket
{social}
knox, you still are such a sweet, content, laid-back baby. you have made this infant stage so pleasant! you have fallen into such an easy routine. you're a super flexible, go-with-the-flow baby! we LOVE getting you up from your crib because you are so smiley and act genuinely excited to see us. we are loving the frequent baby smiles. nothing cuter than a toothless, gummy grin! you are quite the cooer. it's the sweetest sound. we feel like you fall in the middle of your brothers when it comes to pitch. canon had a deep voice from the beginning and ledgie had a high-pitched coo. bless your heart,  you are trying to laugh. your little body wiggles and it's like your trying to muster up your laugh from your toes! you have had more wake periods this month and love people-watching. still not a crier (thank you, jesus!).
Photobucket
{play}
it's been fun watching you observe more of your environment. you still haven't mastered that hand-eye coordination, but you like to move your hands around. we have links hanging on everything and every once in awhile, your hand will find one and you'll hold on tight! you also discovered the fun of kicking your feet. playtime includes making silly faces and having you try to mimic us, reading books, smiling at your toys on your bouncer/playmat and watching your brothers attempts at entertaining you. tummy time hasn't gone great. mainly, because you are content to just lay on your stomach. we have to lay in front on you and lift your head up a few times to remind you what you are working on! this past week, you started holding it up for longer periods. we tease you that it's hard work getting a 95th percentile head up!

{eat}
boy, you love your milk! i'm so thankful for a good mik supply. you are nursing 5-6 times a day, every 2.5-3 hours. we start our day around 8-8:30 and you get your last feeding at 9pm. you still take a bottle well if needed. although, you only like the avent bottle (a freebie in some newborn kit with ledger) which we have one of, but you don't drink a bottle often enough to buy more. you, also, LOVE your passy. it fixes anything that has you upset! i'm getting over a tougher case of mastitis (i assume because we dropped your nighttime feeding), but it hasn't really affected your eating. you have also stopped spitting up as much this past week. very much welcomed!
Photobucket
{sleep}
you are officially sleeping through the night!! oh my. the earliest any of you and your brothers has! your brothers go to bed about 8 and you stay up until 9. this is mommy and daddy's special time with just you. we usually fight over who gets to hold/cuddle you! i nurse you around 9, swaddle you, turn your fan on, and kiss your sweet little head. sometimes during the night, i hear you fussing so i go put a passy in your mouth and you go right back to sleep. i'm just thankful you're not wanting to nurse during the night! you wake up around 8-8:30 with the rest of the house! you still sleep great in the car/carseat. your nap schedule has changed a bit. if we are home, i usually lay you back down about 1-1.5 hours after waking up for the day. you will sleep 1.5-2 hours. after a late morning feeding, you try to stay up until your next feeding. you may cat nap in your bouncer while mommy and your brothers are eating lunch. around 1:30, you get another feeding then we all lay down for an afternoon nap. you will sleep until your next feeding at 4-4:30. most evenings, you take another short nap around 6:30. your schedule works for us! we are very thankful for your flexibility and good (early) sleeping habits.
Photobucket
{bath}
you enjoy your bath. you take your bath in the big tub and we just lay you on your bath sponge. you look so relaxed while i pour warm water over you. you've even kicked your little feet a few times! your big brothers LOVE to watch you take a bath. they can't wait until you can take a bath with them! you love for mommy to sing songs to you during bathtime and while getting dressed. you have started losing some of your hair this month. still have quite a bit, it's just thinned out! you are also, rocking the bald patch on the back of your head :) your eyes are still pretty light...kind of a hazel color now.
Photobucket
{diapering}
you graduated to size 2 diapers last week. you've now been in newborn, 1's and 1/2's (left over from ledger). crazy to think how much that little bottom has already grown! you were dirtying your diaper after every feeding, but we noticed a couple of weeks ago that you hadn't pooed in about 36 hours so i called our nurseline. she was very reassuring saying that you were now at the age where as long as you pooed once a week and weren't acting like you were in pain, it was fine. you are now absorbing more of the breastmilk instead of expelling it. who knew! we still have sooooo many diapers to use from our diaper shower. i'm very thankful for this blessing!
Photobucket
{medical}
your herniated belly button is a large as ever. we are still waiting for you to reach 20 lbs before they do surgery. you had a nasty respiratory virus this month that had you wheezing, coughing and congested. they were very concerned about you and had us come to the office everyday for 3 days, then twice the next week. it took a full week of doing breathing treatments every 4 hours and steroids to finally kick it.  you were such a good sick baby and stuck to your schedule like a champ!
Photobucket
{stats}
at your 2 month appointment, you weighed 13lb 7oz (90th%ile) and was 23 1/2" (75th%ile). a week later you weighed 13lb 11oz. i'm guessing your around 14lbs now. size 2 diapers. definitely in 3-6 month clothes now. we have SO many 3-6 month cold-weather clothes and it's been in the 70's and 80's for awhile now. i'm going to have to grab a few springy 3-6 month things until you can wear our 6-12 month summer clothes!

knox oliver,

we love you so very much and our so thankful for your sweet life! thank you for bringing us lots of smiles and for loving us! we think the world of you and are loving the front row seats to you learning and growing. as your daddy tells you and your brothers every single night, there's nothing that you could ever do that would make us love you less.

love,
mommy
xoxo

new floor...

our house was pretty much move-in ready when we bought it. we loved and still love our little house with big 'ol windows. despite all the love though, there are things we knew needed to be changed. most were little changes that we've already made (ex: changing out all the light fixtures,outlets/outlet covers, and kitchen hardware. putting new carpet in. replacing a couple of doors . slapping a coat of paint on the walls and ceilings), but we knew the bigger projects would have to come in time. the kitchen has been the room at the top of the "needs updating" list. earlier this year, we finally picked out and bought some flooring for the kitchen. lane thought he would have the time to lay it, but after it sat in our bedroom for 2 months, we decided it was worth the money to have someone lay it when you factor in supplies, time, and equipment rentals. wednesday was the big day! here's the before...
Photobucket
lane had a difficult time getting a hold of the installer over the past week so when he finally said he could do it on wednesday afternoon, we jumped at it! of course, the boys wouldn't be able to be in the house during this time so we headed to muskogee for the afternoon! we ate a quick lunch when we got to town (mama got herself some harmony house!) and laid down for a nap. i promised the boys that if they took a good nap, we'd go enjoy the 80 degree weather at the park. we went to the park closest to my mom's house, and much to our surprise, they had overhauled it with the most perfect playground equipment for my kids. i loved it as much as they did! aunt clo even played with us on it!

after all the park fun and eating dinner with my mom, we headed home and were so excited to see this when we got here...

next up on the remodel list...countertops and a backsplash. we are thinking a light colored countertop and white, subway tiles on the backsplash. who knows when it'll actually get done, but in the mean time, it's fun browsing pinterest and kitchen magazines!

after lots of doctor appointments over the past 2 weeks and missing/cancelling just about everything during that time, the boys are finally well! canon went to school for the first time in 2 weeks today. he was so excited. unfortunately, mommy couldn't evade sickness any longer. sunday afternoon, i felt mastitis coming on. by that evening, i had a fever and the body aches. i get it mildly often so i kept waiting to feel better yesterday and it wasn't happening. this morning i woke up still having a fever and feeling yucky. i have a call in to my doctor's office. looks like i'll need antibiotics to kick it this time around. for now, ledgie and i are cuddling and watching lots of cartoons!

a few of our favorite things...

these plates and bowls are so cute AND super sturdy. they're by skiphop, who makes the boys' backpacks. we've yet to have a dumped over plate or spilled bowl of cereal.
Photobucket
our sippy cups were in sad shape so over christmas these tommee tippee cups found their way into our cabinets. i LOVE the colors and designs on them...all the boys' favorites! what i really love is that they don't leak. so glad we found these! also, we have some of their straw cups which are great as well, just a bit difficult assembling the pieces.
Photobucket
we LOVE coffee in our home. we have 100% made the switch to a french press. lane found some yummy hazelnut coffee by eight o'clock coffee that we just ground at the store. it's comprable to panera's hazelnut, my absolute favorite! however, we've drank it everyday for the past 5ish months and were beginning to get burned out. i don't always love starbuck's coffee as it can be too strong...and i like it strong! but when my mimi was here last month with her keurig, she had some of this blonde coffee that she made each day and it was so good. so this week i went and got us some. let's just say i couldn't wait to wake up the past few mornings (i only have one caffeinated drink a day) so i could have a cup! it's perfect!

Photobucket
i couldn't leave knox out. these are his passies of choose! we grew up on mams so that's what i introduced to canon and he loved them. i tried a couple different brands on ledger. he had just decided he didn't need a passy. with knox, i grabbed these avents, mostly because i liked the way they looked! he took right to them in the hospital. i've since tried some mams we had that ledger wouldn't take and knox def prefers the avents. love a baby and their passy!
Photobucket
(my flash made my carpet look funny!) LOVE these!! i still love looking at the art supply aisles at the store. the boys got an art desk for christmas so we've been stocking it. i came across these amazing MESS FREE, color wonder products. i don't like messes or having to always supervise simple projects so these have won my vote. i do have to keep the special paper out of reach for sake of conserving...learned my lesson fast! the wonderful thing is that my kids love these just as much as i do...for different reasons, i'm sure!
Photobucket
we've certainly enjoyed the movies cupid brought us a few weeks ago. i think after the toy story series, wall-e is my 2nd favorite! i'm surprised it holds the boys' attention as well as it does, but they love it as well. and harry potter? lane and i just enjoy them so much!
Photobucket
this shampoo rocks! every year for my birthday, my dad gets me a big 'ol salon shampoo and conditioner that lasts me the whole year. last time i got my haircut, my hairdresser used this and i fell in love with the scent. i don't like smelly or smelless shampoo!
Photobucket
and lastly, this yummy stuff was just discovered by lane this past week and he is hooked. he's been off pop for awhile and always tries whatever isn't carbonated. somehow he's never gotten chick-fil-a's lemonade, but that all changed. it's def his favorite right now! he even made some of his own last night after searching the internet for the secret recipe (although, sugar, lemons and water don't seem so secret!).

crazy few days...

it NEVER, EVER fails that when lane goes out of town, everything hits the fan! someone ALWAYS ends up sick. everytime. knox came down with RSV's cousin, metapneumovirus, along with bronchiolitis last wednesday...the same day lane left!
Photobucket
after 3 trips to the doctor's office last week for knox (and one this monday and thursday), ledger came down with the same stuff, plus fever by friday evening so we headed back to tulsa (3rd trip) for urgent care. he was put on the same regimen.
Photobucket
we were SO happy to pick up daddy at the airport saturday night! of course, when packing up the van that night, i discovered my car battery was dead from a light left on. my sweet father-in-law came to my rescue!
Photobucket
between all the driving back and forth, breathing treatments every 4 hours (we've now added canon into the rotation the last 2 days), nursing every3 hours, i was worn smooth out...still am! i'm so thankful for all the help my mom and in-laws were. i couldn't have kept on without them! hopefully, this is the last of the sick germs for a long while...once we get them gone.

iphone dump...

a couple of saturdays ago, my mom came up and we hit the mall with the boys. there were some akdar clowns making balloons and passing out circus tickets. the boys chose swords. bless their little hearts, they kept jabbing people as we walked by, but didn't understand how to keep from it. they were so excited.  ledger's popped as soon as we got home. it was tragic!
Photobucket
a few days after that, i was back at the mall with the 3 boys. knox needed to eat so we camped out in the playground area. it was pretty busy. they were so timid at first, but then they had fun! they're best buds!
Photobucket
my happy boy! he's so wiggly when he's smiling that it's hard to get a pic without motion blur. i love this sleeper. it's one of my favorite things the boys have worn.
Photobucket
ledger had a rough couple of weeks with some yucky diapers so he got lots of baths! the boy loves bathtime!
Photobucket
we had to replace our screen door last week. so while we were working on that, the boys were running around the yard in their rain boots and pj's! they kept saying, "lets look for birds." then they'd plop down on the ground. sweet boys.
Photobucket
this boy had his 2 month checkup last thursday. he was a whopping 13lbs 7oz (90th percentile)! ledger was 13lbs 12oz and canon weighed 11lbs 1oz at this same age. knox was in the 75th percentile for heighth and his big 'ol noggin was in the 90th percentile. he was healthy with the exception of his head. he favors the right side so he's a little flat in the back. we have some exercises to do with him to stretch the neck muscles. hopefully, since we caught it so early on, he won't have any problems.
Photobucket
we have also been looking at couches over the past week. our old couches deserve a post all to themselves. the boys loved going to all the stores and trying out each couch! like they kept asking to go look at more...ha. we finally decided on the one below in a different color. i'll make sure to show you when it comes in!
Photobucket
sunday was such a beautiful day so after the boys' naps, lane took them to our neighborhood park while  i had the house to myself to get some cleaning/organizing done. it's amazing the things i get excited about!

free pancakes...

apparently, today is national pancake day! i saw on the noon news that ihop was serving free pancakes all day again this year. at first we didn't think it would be a good idea because of how busy it would be, but after discussing it again, we knew the boys would love getting to go eat pancakes, one of their favorites!
Photobucket
we were right!
Photobucket
lane entertained the boys while we waited for our dinner by drawing them each a "lorax". there were pictures of it everywhere!
Photobucket
we love getting out with our little family. the big boys do so well and enjoy being out. knox just sleeps the whole time. i enjoy these sweet moments so much. and who doesn't love free pancakes?!
