a special day...

today was a special little treat in that the boys were invited to spend the day with their cousins at oomah and pop's house! they came and picked up the crew at 10 this morning and took them back to muskogee. meanwhile, i got to hang out with this little cutie!

it's rare for it to be just us. i LOVED having one on one time with him! i'm pretty sure, though, that he likes it better when his brothers are home entertaining him. it was pretty quiet around our house!

i'm having a hard time with the fact that he's more than likely my last little baby and that he's growing so fast. i want to spend 24/7 with him so i don't miss a thing! i'm overly hormonal/sentimental about everything right now...ha

and in case you haven't heard...he's sitting up now! it's crazy how fast this new trick developed. just a few days ago, he'd sit for 10-20 seconds and as of last night, he's sitting for minutes! he still can't catch himself if he starts falling back, but if he's balanced, he'll sit forever. he also rolled from his back to stomach a few times this week. crazy how much he has changed and learned in less than 6 months. i just LOVE him to pieces!

this is one of my favorite to date pics of this crime-fighting cutie!

after we saw the big boys off, we spent our morning at the mall, target and then stopped in mcalister's (my newest "kick") to pick up lunch before going home. i could drink a gallon of that tea in a sitting! yum.

i spent my quiet afternoon painting my nails and catching up on my dvr'd shows...sister wives and bachelorette :) mr. knox ended up taking a 3.5 hour nap! it was so relaxing. i probably should've napped, too, but i was just loving the time to myself.

when lane got home from work, we headed to dinner before the boys got home. we went to kilkenny's, a great little irish restaurant. yum again. sidenote: i got my first maxi skirt a couple of weeks ago and am loving it. in fact, i want more. so comfy, but...confession...i don't know how to wear them. it was stressing me out wondering if a shirt tucked in looked dumb. any advice?

our little third-wheel. i've never noticed until this picture, but our eye shape is identical.

meanwhile, the boys were having a blast with some of their very favorite people.

thanks, oomah and pops, for inviting the boys to play and giving me a break! canon said his favorite part of the day was "sliding on my tummy down the slide." ledger's was "the water."

when they got back to our house, sweet ella was loving on "baby knox" (as she refers to him). we came in to find that she had covered him up real good with a blanket! he loves the attention. their faces crack me up.

Definitely tuck the shirt in ( in my opinion). You look great in it.
Saying bye to all those newborn moments is so hard. We got rid of all the binkies this week *sniff*

I have that skirt too and I LOVE IT!! I've actually been browsing online to get myself another or two! ;)
I think it looks good how you have it! I sometimes tuck my shirt in, and sometimes leave it out and put a jean jacket with it. So easy to dress up or down.

Your little Knox is SUCH a cutie! He's getting so big, so fast!! And he's ADORABLE just like your other two!! :)

You look so cute in that skirt! I have a maxi skirt and I always tuck in my shirt and then belt it.

The pic of you in the maxi skirt is super cute. Definitely tuck that shirt in. Maybe don't tuck other shirts in...depends on style. Also, I saw you and Lane at Kilkenny's that night, but I was with my husband and his parents and you were with other people, so I figured I would just give an internet shout out. :^) Sweet brood of boys you have.
