the joys of being a mommy...

today has been one of those days. one thing after another... i had to be somewhere for lunch today. i got up and got ready, , then got canon up and ready. i always feed him last so we can stretch our adventures out as long as possible. on the way out the door, he sneezed and burped at the same time thus gagging himself which lead to throwing up...twice. all over mom, all over canon, all over the couch. so after 2 sponge baths and complete wardrobe changes, we make it...on time, too! an oil change was also on the list today. we show up and it doesn't seem too busy. canon was in a good mood. pretty soon, i smell canon, then i see what i smell. poop all over him and me. i pull the wipes out of the diaperbag and there is only one wipe. i'm such a great mom. i clean my hands off as best as possible, then sanitize them. canon is very upset at this point. while we were sitting there with poop on us, i met this sweet woman who ,ironically, goes to our church. she had such a sweet joy about her. she shared some problems that she has faced, but jesus just flowed out of her. anyways, after two hours, we finally made it home. bathed canon again, he then pooped on his bath towel, cleaned him up again, took my shower. it feels like such a whirlwind, but as i sit here holding my sleeping baby, my heart is so full. i have enjoyed every moment with canon today. i haven't minded cleaning him up. it's true what they say- your kids bodily fluids aren't near as disgusting as others! i love being canon's mom, and taking care of him. his smiles when i talk to him. his little giggle as i rattle his toy like a fool at the oil place. the way he looks at me as i feed him. i am blessed! after countless baths and pieces of clothing, i am blessed! who cares about an extra load of laundry. my baby is happy and healthy...i am blessed!

Awesome perspective! Not all of the moments of being a parent are the best, but the reward of being a parent is incredible.

I would love to hear you say the sentence "his little giggle as i rattle his toy like a fool at the oil place". Great post and pic! Love that I know you and him!

Oh the joys of motherhood! I have had days like that. I now have an emergency stash in our car of an extra pair of clothes, diapers (because I have forgotten to pack the diaper bag), snacks and extra water. Funny, when I make sure it is packed and ready, I don't need it, but if I take it out of my car to clean it out and forget to put it back, I need it.
