it's official...

i'm a mom! well, i've been a mom, but now that i have a van...it's official! i'm a van mom :) i don't know why that makes me giddy. i love driving vans :)

my car has been on the fritz for the past 6 months. the transmission is almost completely busted. we can be driving down the road and then all of sudden it won't shift up. i've been stranded many a time.

we kept praying that the car would hang on until tax time. we knew we wanted to find a van where we could pay cash for it. a couple of weeks ago, we started looking on craigslist, which to be honest, made my paranoid self a little nervous. we found one right as lane was leaving for chicago that seemed to be a great deal. i started a correspondence with this person and each response got a bit more shady. i googled his name, and sure enough, all these scam-reporting sites came up. i was so thankful we never sent any money.

this past monday, we got back on and found one here in tulsa that we were interested in. lane sent an email, and we set up a meeting to look at it and test drive it on tuesday evening. we actually went to their house, and instantly felt a peace about the whole situation. the van was very clean. lane also got to test drive it, and said it drove "beautifully". we set up a time to take it to the honda dealership on wednesday. the mechanic pulled up the log of everything that had been done to it in the past 6 years. he said it had been flawlessly maintained and it would be a very smart purchase...so we bought it today!
