rolla, part 2...

one of lane's favorite things to do in rolla is wake up early and drink coffee on the back porch with his poppa. he set his clock for 7 just so he wouldn't sleep too late. of course by setting a clock in a room with 3 other people, we all got up at 7 :) canon became a man among men that morning!

nothing like a little catch early in the morning...
after a scrumptious country breakfast, we headed out to meramec springs. lane has talked about this place for years. he had been wanting to take canon now that he loves being outdoors. it's a huge spring in a state park . it also has a fish hatchery.
they had little quarter machines with fish food in it. there were soooo many trout. we thought canon would love the fish, but he really just loved throwing the food. as soon as he, would throw it, he would go back for more. he never waited to see the fish react...which they did!

there were lots of walking trails around the spring. poppa pushed ledger. ledger enjoyed his stroll. the spring was freezing cold. i guess it was tradition to walk across a certain part of it. lane made it across then took canon out. it made me nervous that he would drop c. canon didn't love it! then he wanted me to go out. not only was it frigid, it was so slimy with moss. i am not a water girl. i need to be able to see the bottom and know that chlorine is killing everything! there was just one little spot with pebbles that i would put my feet down. i lasted about 30 seconds!

after we left the park, aunt lori treated me to a pedicure. i love me some pedicures! we spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out. for dinner, we went to one of rolla's famous burger joints. it was yummy. we pulled out of town around 7:45 that evening and drove straight to muskogee for my friend cana's bridal shower that was saturday. i'm her matron of honor. i can't wait for her wedding this summer :) she had a great shower, and received so many wonderful things that i wanted to sneak out with me! there were so many people there that i hadn't seen in forever.

i also got to see one of my most favorite people in the whole world, tamara (and her girls)! she was my youth pastor's wife, and i have so many great memories with her and cana. we actually saw them a few weeks before, but it was a special treat to them twice in one month.

this is caleigh. she is my old pastor's daughter. she was like 4 when they moved away. anyway, she loves babies, and ledger loved her! she had him pretty much the whole shower, and he did great with her.
when we got back saturday evening, we went over to the stewart's house for dinner, and an intense game of nertz. i may or may not have neglected my kids while we were playing! it was such a fun, full weekend...just like we like it :)

Oh, you neglected them all right. But I watched/played with them, so it's all good. :)

It looks like Lane is trying to pull you into the water against your will!...Something my husband would do also! Mean husbands :)
