thursday...

this morning, canon had an appointment at a pediatric cardiologist. at his 2 year check-up last week, our nurse practiotioner heard a slight heart murmur. none of our doctors had ever mentioned hearing one so she set up an appointment for an echo. lane watched ledger while i took canon. i was kind of worried how canon would react mainly because of his history with doctors and his fear of them being within 2 feet of him! they had a very nice waiting room with huge fish tanks...lots of nemos and dories! canon loved them and of course i didn't remember my camera. during the test, they had him lay on a table while he watched chicken little. he did so great! he never once acted hesitant. he even became pals with the tech. the tech said it'd be 3 days before we heard anything, but this afternoon our doctor called and said it was an innocent murmur that would more than likely never cause cardiac issues. peace of mind!

after the boys not taking naps, they were surprisingly pleasant this afternoon. they played and laughed together. they ate us out of the house. they made me smile :) i love sharing every moment with them...what a blessing.

when lane got home, he made some mean steaks. he has loved grilling this year. i haven't minded it one bit, either! there is nothing better than grilled food. look at the pretty cross-marks...fancy!
after we cleaned up dinner, we headed to the mall. i needed to exchange something for canon, and was thinking about going by myself, but thought a family outing would be much more fun! i had to bribe lane with a trip to the apple store and a sno-cone...it worked! we played with the ipads at the apple store. of course, lane tried to convince of every reason under the sun why we would benefit from having one. they were impressive. we took canon to the play area to show lane where he likes to play. it's such a perfect area for canon's age/size. he loves it!

this is for you, aunt lori!
this little girl insisted lane take her picture with canon...

we forwent a sno-cone for a trip to orange leaf. i hadn't been there yet, and let me tell you, it was right up my alley. i am loving ice cream this summer. it's actually self-serve yogurt, then you put whatever toppings you want on, and pay by the ounce. mine was $2.80, lane's was $5 something. canon loved sitting in their awesome chairs. he was especially fascinated with the cut outs in the base of the chairs. when we tell canon to smile, this is what happens. we call it his "school picture smile."
ledger enjoyed some ice cream, too...

i enjoyed being out and about with my guys. i love my family!
