wednesday night...

it's wednesday night so that means calzone night at our house. every wednesday night for the past 2+ years we have eaten calzone after church. it's kind of a joke because everyone knows what we are heading home to eat. lane's mom first introduced me to this recipe, and it has become a weekly staple in our menu. thank goodness because i hate coming up with menus! so without further ado, the infamous calzone...
1. set a frozen loaf out on a greased cookie sheet. spray plastic wrap with pam and cover loaf.
2. after 4-5 hours at room temperature, it will look like this.
3. press out dough. fill 1/2 with whatever favorite toppings. we like pepperoni or sausage and mozarella cheese.
4. fold over and seal sides. bake at 350* for 15-20 minutes. for our oven, 17 minutes is perfect.
5. brush melted butter on tops and sides. sprinkle with garlic salt. enjoy.
lane likes to dunk his in pizza sauce. i prefer a 0.30 cent cup of ranch from mazzio's that lane picks up on his way home. that's one of the more high maintenance things about me :) don't judge...have you had their ranch?? yum.

Is that package of white bread frozen dough? Or do you make the dough?

Mazzio's ranch became my favorite when we would have pizza at Blvd. But sadly we don't have a Mazzio's in Canon City, Co. But, I am going to try this Calzone next week. Thanks for the post.
