a new bed and vinegar...

actually, just new bedding. when i graduated from high school, my dad gave me the option of a laptop or a queen mattress/frame. since i was living at home and we had a computer, i chose the bed! i used my graduation money to buy bedding from pottery barn. i loved it for many years. then something changed. all of a sudden i felt like i lived in a grandma's room. so after deciding what our new "style" was and picking out what we liked, we have the majority of it now after 2 christmases! we still need a couple standard shams and some kind of throw pillow...
these are our inspiration pictures...

our room isn't very big and we have no furniture in there so i doubt it is ever finished in this house, but that's ok. i feel like every room in our house is "in progress". i just love how relaxing and soothing the white is. i've had my eye on the bedding at pottery barn for a couple of years so thanks to those who contributed...ha!

my newest OBSESSION is vinegar. i've seriously bought a huge jug of it each week. i use it instead of bleach now along with baking soda. i'm trying slowly to make green changes. i use the vinegar everywhere... tubs, sink, drains, floor, lunchbox, countertops, etc. i use it to disinfect the toys. i keep a spray bottle of it around. i tried it on my nasty stove top today and was amazed at its grease fighting abilities. lane hates the smell, but i've come to like it!

and speaking of cleaning. today i killed it. my house rarely gets cleaned good. when i clean, i like it to all be done the same day, but that's really hard with my handy helpers around. so today while canon was at school and ledger was taking a nap, i knocked it out in 2.5 hours. everything. it feels good. this scary picture below is what happens while i'm picking up. i find bobby pins everywhere and just start a collection on top of my head instead of walking to the bathroom each time. i never remember taking them out, but i guess i do and don't put them in the right spot.
hope everyones having a good day! aunt lala just got here for the night to play and chicken spaghettis in the oven. it's gonna be a good night!

Haha! I totally do that bobby pin thing, too, when I clean.

I've started using vinegar and baking soda, too. I really like not feeling like I'm giving myself cancer when I clean.

Love the bed! Does the vinegar disinfect too? I may have to give it a try!
