the sweetest day...

*first of all, i have no idea why these pics are blurry. i think my camera's on the fritz!*

our day of LOVE was full of just that! i started off by running to the store as soon as i got up so i didn't have to get the boys out. we had a full day planned. i just love the feel of being out in the early morning when there's not many people!

after i had my coffee, canon and i got started on some LOVEcakes...strawberry with strawberry icing and red sprinkles! he loves to lick the spoon. while they were baking, we made a "craft" as canon calls any art-ish project. meet canon's LOVEbug. he enjoyed flying him around after the glue dried.

my dad came over yesterday morning to see the boys and bring valentine treats! mommy got panera cranberry-orange muffins. the boys got yummy blue cotton candy! he entertained them while i cleaned the house. he has this scanner app on his phone so i listened to what was going on in tulsa while cleaning...ha!

lane's parents were coming into town about 1 to watch drew and amy's kids as well as ours. so after getting the boys bathed and dressed, i was making a pot of stew to throw in the oven when the door bell rang. i fully expected it to be one of them. nope. it was a lady bringing me the most beautiful, fragrant flowers. i was so surprised! lane's a sneeky little fella! this picture doesn't do them justice...

my sweet valentines...

oomah brought lots of fun activities to do with the kids. they made cute picture frames for their mommies and daddies. she had also made these cute t-shirts that said "prince charming...melting hearts since 2008 (whatever year they were born) and then let them have free reign over them with fabric markers! they turned out so cute. canon wore his to speech and school this morning! while the babies were all napping, canon and pops piddled outside. that's their favorite thing to do together! they made an awesome canon sized snowman with the neighbor's snow since ours was all melted. they were creative in what they used for his face. steve asked canon what the snowman's name was and he said amy. amy the snowman it is!

we had reservations for 5 at our favorite steakhouse, flemings. it's a once a year place for us, but we love every single minute and bite while we are there. i got to take my time getting ready and craft a homemade valentine during the afternoon! lane planned on getting home at 4 to get ready. we were outside watching canon play when he walked up, and i was so surprised to see that he had cut all his hair off! his mom had come up earlier then planned to do it up at the church. it was the second surprise of the day...he's good at pulling off surprises! stay tuned for some nasty in-between stage pictures that they captured during the cut!

we had such a fun time together getting dressed up and hanging out just the 2 of us. we enjoyed a wonderful dinner of ribeyes, onion rings, the best bread and herb butter EVER, and the BEST freshly made to order molten chocolate cake. i wish i would've taken a picture while we there, but the atmosphere doesn't really call for bright flashes! i want to remember that night forever.

after dinner, we headed to get lane's valentine's present...an iphone! the "deal" was he could get one when he cut his hair. not really! he's been eligible for an upgrade for 5 months and has been so patient to wait until spring. his phone was constantly hanging up and resetting itself. not good for someone who has to stay accessible! i'm so glad for him...he deserves it! i'm not eligible for an upgrade until august and my phone's hardware is worthless. it falls apart if you look at it wrong! patience is a virtue, i suppose.

my mom had taken the boys' valentines over to dawn to bring up. we waited til the end of the day to give it to them. they LOVED getting balloons and a bag of suckers, gram! they were wrestling and beating up the monkey balloon...oh, dear. i think this picture below sums up their personalities so well...canon the active one(hitting the balloon with a stick) and ledger the eater (he's scouting out the suckers!).
