tasty tuesday:superbowl edition

i thought i'd share 2 of my favorite appetizer recipes today. i made them on sunday during the superbowl. they're so easy and yummy!

cream cheese kicker

1/2 of a jar of harry and david's pepper and onion relish to 1 block of softened cream cheese. blend until smooth. that's it!!

my first memory of this was at their branson store and it was the tester for that day. even at a young age, i thought it was so yummy. it's the perfect amount of sweet to spicy! my sister visited their destin, florida store this past summer and stocked my mom up. mom let me have a jar!!

1# ground sausage, medium (for the kick, but mild works, too!)
1 pkg cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese (i used mozerella-parmesan blend because it was $1.50 cheaper)
1# large fresh jalapeno peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded

cook sausage and drain grease. mix cream cheese and parmesan then add sausage in. spoon approx. 1 tbsp of mixture into each jalapeno half. bake at 425* for 20 minutes :)

I love both of those appetizers. Although, the peppers almost killed Nancy and I over the break because of the seeds. I'm allergic to them...they make me cough continuously and my throat feels like it is closing up. Insane. I will continue eating them though!

Kel, I love pepper jelly and cream cheese! I skip the mixing step and just dip a wheat thin in the jelly then the cream cheese :) The jalapenos look incredible - I'll have to try those out!
