dallas trip...

while lane was gone to ciy this week, the boys, my sister, chloe, and myself headed to dallas for a few days to see our newly married sister (and her hubby!). we got there sunday evening and left before the sun came up on thursday! it was filled with lots of fun, laughs, eating, swimming and reality tv...oh, and sweating to death in this awful heat.

on monday, we got up and headed to grapevine mills. of course, my boys were most interested in the quarter machine cars (except their not a quarter anymore). we ate lunch at le madeline. it was a chaotic lunch, but their tomato basil soup was soooo good.

that night, we ate at saltgrass steakhouse. i had so been looking forward to this! it may just be my favorite thing about texas! not only is their steak perfect, the bread, the honey butter, the ranch, the cheese, the sweet potato...all divine. you better believe i ate every ounce of my 12 oz steak! didn't get a picture of it because my children decided to be rowdy and not let me enjoy my meal to the fullest!

the boys begged to swim each night. we were able to bribe good behavior out of them each day with the pool! they also got really brave in the pool this week. they've been using floaties this summer and can get around ok, but were still weary of going under and being too adventerous! by the end of last week, they were jumping off ledges and going under. they LOVED it...especially canon!

on tuesday, we went to the dallas children's museum. it was so fun! i was looking forward to taking the boys so they could run around and be entertained. i wish we had something as interactive here. it was the best $17 spent...and we stayed cool. you better believe we took good naps that day!Photobucket

wednesday, we got up and around and headed to lauren's local library for story/singing time (canon and lauren actually went tuesday afternoon, too!). the boys' loved it! i'm looking forward to going weekly to ours once school starts. i was surprised at how they jumped right in and participated. i think they just love being around people. i loved it because it was free and cool!

after a scrumptious fajita dinner at a local restaurant, i loaded up the car and put the boys to bed earlier (still later than normal!). we watched some tv and called it a night. i never sleep when i know i have to wake up early. maybe fear of missing the alarm? i woke up every 30-45 minutes all night. we finally got up and left around 5:45 (in order to miss the morning rush). it was nice to pull into muskogee early morning and still have the rest of the day! i was thankful to have clo in the van with us. she entertained the boys and helped them when they needed something. the rest of our trip tomorrow...

thanks, lauren and kyle, for letting us invade your home and being gracious hosts...and celebrate your 1 month anniversary with you!!

Have you been to the Kaleidoscope Children's Museum in Tulsa? It's pretty cool...and air conditioned!

looks like you all had fun! i just love reading about your adventures and seeing the pics of those adorable boys! :)
my sister and i loved going to the children's museum in Seminole when we were younger. my dad's sister used to live there and we would love going to see her because she'd always take us.

I loved seeing this post. The girls were reading over my shoulder and now they want to go visit Lauren and Kyle, too.
