gender reveal party...

friday night, we had our family over to tell them what we were having!! we always reveal to everyone at once, and it usually involves everyone participating in some cheesy activity. we took a poll and 75% of the people thought girl. i even got a text from steve, lane's dad, friday morning saying he was putting ALL his money on it being a girl! that made me laugh. i'm always terrible at guessing what people will have. canon was SO excited about "knox's party"! not everyone could make it, but it was fun and we even facetimed the whole time with my sister and kyle in dallas.

the first thing we did was play a game where lane read several old wivestales and i revealed what had been true for me this pregnancy. we tallied up the score at the end and the wivestales actually said i was having a girl!

next, we went to the kitchen so they could eat a cupcake that was holding the secret! it didn't turn out exactly as planned. i meticulously made blue centers in the cupcakes thinking it would fill the center. unfortunately, all the blue sunk to the bottom! it still didn't reveal anything until they had taken a bite. i also had funfetti cake mix so that confused a few, too!

we were so excited to be able to reveal the name we had chosen! everyone knew we had a name, but hadn't told anyone so the excitement was high. lane and canon had come up with a big game of hangman. canon was so excited to play "dad's game"! the game was a success...they only had 3 incorrect guesses. once someone guessed "o", the game sped up. our family seemed to LOVE the name! we've only had a few "hmmm...that's interesting" or "how did you come up with that?" comments. nothing negative!

it was so fun to spend a night celebrating our sweet baby! we love you, knox :)
