i spent entirely too many hours the day leading up to the show working on these shirts. they turned out cute though, and the boys loved sporting their favorite characters! lane volunteered to stay home with knox so my mom went us.
they had a play zone that opened an hour before the show. it was set up with the cutest sets. we had a fun time going from station to station. i like how in the picture with count dracula canon is trying to show ledger how to make a 2 with his fingers!

while we were wandering around, music began playing and a few characters came out. canon was pretty nervous to get too close. he kept trying to pull ledger back! they left and then came back 10 minutes later. at that point, we were some of the first people to the roped off area.
ledger was loving it. he kept waving and i told him to stick his hand out to give bert a high-five. he thought that was so awesome!
canon was still hanging back, but i told him to scoot up and show ernie his shirt when ernie danced his way over to us. he hesitantly showed him his shirt and ernie made a big deal of it and stuck his hand out. i grabbed canon's hand and gave him a five for him. at that point, something clicked with canon and he was all smiles and kept hollering at the characters. he wanted another five.
i love this picture. getting a high-five from ernie was the highlight of the show for him!
a few minutes before 10:30, we made our way to our seats with all our gear and snacks that gram had already bought them. thankfully, the show wasn't sold out and we had a whole row to ourselves so the boys could spread out.

by the second half of the show, the sugar had kicked in and they were very entertaining. they danced their litlle hearts out!

when we asked them what their favorite part was, canon said "ernie and elmo. no, all the bodies (everybody)!" ledger said he liked "tookie and ehmo and abby and bih bird and bert." i loved seeing them light up with the most genuine smiles! their innocence is the sweetest thing ever. thanks, gram, for such a fun time! we made so many sweet memories. and i love that you took me at 3 and now my sons...so cool!
the rest of the weekend was spent with family and friends. it was full and so fun AND i did not have to cook one time! lauren and kyle flew in friday night. my mom picked them up at the airport and we met them for pizza. l & k spent the night with us. my mom headed back up for sesame street saturday morning. laure, chloe and kyle went to the mall to find chloe the perfect dress for her dance. we all met up at the brook for lunch.
my sister had the boys outside for awhile that afternoon. i'm pretty sure she's convinced herself that they're all best friends. she sings "we're the 3 best friends that anyone could have" to them all the time! she was having them race and they were cracking me up.
our good friend, cana, from portland was in town and we all make it a point to meet up whenever she's home. her husband couldn't come with her this trip. lane's brother, tyler, and his wife, denise, were also coming over to hang out. we have hung out since 11th grade and just have the best time together. i love that all their spouses have been added to the group and fit in nicely. we got a babysitter for the boys and went out for mexican food. it was perfect patio weather. we laughed until late and then took cana and the fishers to the airport at 5 sunday morning.
we had a chili fundraiser lunch after church. it was nice coming home and putting everyone right to bed for a nice nap! we had no groceries in the house so we went to ccalester's for the second sunday night in a row. yum. our friend, shanna, met us there and then took me to the grocery store to get a few items while lane went home to meet our friend, shawn. they are also alot of fun! shawn's moving back to california so this was the last time we were going to see him for awhile.
we went to bed very tired that night, but it was such a great weekend. our weekends are already full through may, but with so many fun things. i'm thankful for friends and laughter.
