knox eats oatmeal...

it's funny how with the first baby you kind of rush all the stages because everything's so new and exciting! by the time baby #2 (and #3 in our case) comes around, you're stretching out every stage for as long as possible. it used to drive me crazy when people would tell me to "enjoy your babies" or "it goes too fast." sadly, it's true. so with knox i was determined to savor every single baby moment. thankfully, since he's such a content little guy, it's been easy to do!

i think we probably started canon on oatmeal at 4ish months old. with ledger, we didn't introduce solids until 6 months. i LOVE, LOVE nursing exclusively. it's so easy and there's something about knowing i'm the only one giving him sustenance (i like to think he needs me more than he really does. drives lane crazy!).

so tuesday, knox turned 6 months. since we are out of town and he won't go for his 6 month appointment until the first week of july, i just figured we would wait until then to introduce anything. mainly, because i forgot how to even begin introducing them! amazing how that happens regardless of the number of kids you have.

welp, after seemingly overnight noticing our food and grabbing for it AND having a few fussy days, i decided maybe he was just extra hungry. we ran home wednesday night and grabbed everything he would need for his first experience with solids! the boys were so excited and kept telling knox, "you get to eat big boy food!" and asking me if it was time yet.

as i figured, he LOVED it and couldn't get it in his mouth fast enough! it was even pretty thick for a first feeding, but he handled it like a champ! even though with each milestone he is becoming less baby, it's so exciting to watch him learn and do something new. i'm so thankful that i have him and he is healthy and growing. knox, here's to learning something that will aid you for the rest of your life! love you big boy :)
