a week in muskogee...

this past week we said goodye to lane and hello to a week at my mom's. we had a fun time and stayed pretty busy. the week actually flew by! it's now over halfway until our little family reunites!


even though my mom had to work all week, she would come home and give the boys all of her attention until bedtime. they ate it up! she pulled a lot of mine and my sisters' old toys out. the boys especially loved the mcdonald's. they cooked and played restaurant the majority of the time!

on monday, we met eden and the girls at the splash pad. the water was pretty chilly with the wind, but they loved running around and playing on the playground. muskogee public schools are taking free lunches to the parks all month long. so when the big "cruisin' cafe" bus pulled up, we grabbed the kids some lunch. i love that they are doing that for all the hungry kiddos out there!

that evening mom cooked breakfast for supper, and then we played outside for awhile. the boys had been wanting to "play chalk", but once we got out there, they couldn't have cared less! 

tuesday morning, i dropped knox off with oomah and took the boys to swim. i had asked a friend if it was ok if we came to use her pool. the boys are loving swimming this year! they have such a nice pool. i had such a fun time with my sweet guys.  

wednesday, i ran to get a much needed haircut. sweet eden watched my crew while i was a lady of luxury. that evening, we headed to tulsa to get a few things we had forgotten. my mom was already up there for an appointment so we had dinner at abuelo's before heading back. she, also, got them a special thunder cookie! 

chloe got new bedding recently and was trying to decide what to do with her walls. we decided she needed an accent wall. so while she was at camp, we ran to lowe's and i painted it! it turned out really cute. i never got a finished photo. maybe this weekend i'll remember to :)

thursday, the boys had haircuts and then we headed home so nora and cordie could come play while their mama went to walmart. i was so thankful we were able to swap babysitting!

for dinner, we went to chili's. and to say my boys had TONS of energy is an understatement! it was a c-r-a-z-y dinner. this was our attempt to tame the wild monkeys... "the freeze-quiet game." brilliant :)

after we ate, we decided to head to the park to celebrate the first day of summer and to let the boys run some steam off! it was a beautiful evening. knox started out watching his big brothers doing their favorite park activity, but...

it didn't take long for him to join them! he LOVED it! 

friday was spent doing laundry and packing up to leave to spend a week in arkansas. thanks to everyone for entertaining us and, especially, to my mom for letting the circus invade her house!!
