i have ALWAYS been a girl that gets a certain food craving and, basically, will burn myself out on it over a short period of time due to my excessive indulgence of it! i like to eat. i kind of view it as one of my hobbies! i enjoy trying different restaurants and cooking new things. i like food :)
a couple of my favorite things to make right now are baked zucchini chips and baked sweet potato fries. i make them often. i'm sure lane is so sick of them, but i love veggies and i can't enough of these two yummies! on the zucchini chips, i slice them about 1/2" thick, dip them in a beaten egg white, then dredge them in a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, garlic salt, black pepper and shredded parmesan. i bake them at 450* for about 10 minutes on each side.
on the sweet potato fries, i slice them and throw them in a gallon ziploc bag with a tiny bit of oil, salt, pepper, paprika and cinnamon. shake to coat then bake at 425* for about 20 minutes, turning halfway through. i also melt a little butter and mix some brown sugar in to make a glaze i drizzle over mine. yum.
my absolute favorite place to go right now is mcalister's. i seriously had only been there maybe 3 or 4 times in my life up until a couple of months ago. we started going on sunday evenings for a few weeks. it was the panera alternative. i love panera for dinner, but lane doesn't feel like he gets full there so he suggested mcalister's. i've only gotten one thing there, but it's so tasty....harvest chicken salad sandwich on a toasted croissant. i get mac n' cheese for the side item (and sometimes potato salad to you mix it up!). if we get it to go, i throw some chips on my plate when we get home! my favorite thing about mcalister's is the sweet tea. this is my current drink kick...ha! it's really good that they don't have a drive-thru.
and my dessert kick? chick-fil-a's chocolate chunk cookie! i think i may have blogged this pic before. it is so tasty. and warm. and convenient.i love that i can run through the drive-thru and get a cookie and an equally tasty sweet tea or lemonade.
that's what i'm loving these days. i'm sure it's only a matter of time before i hate them all, but for now, i will enjoy :)
