what started out as only a 1-night trip to muskogee for pumpkin palooza, turned into a week long getaway. my sister ended up being there at the beginning of the week so we went down early to see her. then lane ended up going on a last minute, overnight trip on thursday so the decision was made for us to just stay in muskogee for the week, which ended up being a good thing as we were there when my mom received her diagnosis. of course, our time there always consists of LOTS of playtime with some of our favorite people!
what do you do when you can't find any halloween cookie cutters the week of halloween?? use whatever's on hand...an angel, a shoe, a butterfly, a gingerbread man, and a fish! at least our sprinkles were appropriately themed!
"hi! welcome to mcdonald's. please i take your order?" who knew that 22 years later, it'd still be getting lots of play time!
classic ledger.
on actual halloween, we headed over to oomah and pop's house to eat pizza and trick or treat in their culdesac. turns out that canon isn't a fan of trick or treating! to his credit, big kids with scary masks make me nervous, too. he insisted on staying inside...with the door shut. pops had to sit outside to give candy to the trick or treaters. after most of the trick or treaters were gone, we made our way around the culdesac successfully. the plan was to trick or treat with them then head over to my mom's street to make our round there. as i was taking this picture, my mom pulled up just having come from the doctor with the news of her cancer. we didn't end up getting to trick or treat, but i don't think the boys minded. they had more than enough candy to last them until next halloween!
we got some more park time in with eden and the girls. we love hanging out with them :)
