the 2nd week started out with a much needed day of rest. really, lane's first with absolutely nothing to do in months. we began to feel more settled that week as we had found a good routine. we enjoyed several play dates and outings, including a full 3 days of lane. it was bliss.
sidenote: i forgot to mention that we came to joplin with one van and by the end of the first week, lane's brother had blessed us with a second car that they weren't using. big answer to prayer. the frustrating thing is we live less than a mile from lane's new job, but because they are doing major construction on the main street by nana's, he has to take a 15 minute detour. so the solution? walking to work! he walks to and from work which takes about 5 minutes, unless he knows he will need his car during the day. he LOVES it! it's very scenic and wooded. he sees deer and wild turkey on a regular basis. he also has seen some beautiful fall trees! in tulsa, we lived about 75 seconds (driving) away from the church. love his commute times!

lane and i had a craving for chocolate chip cookies one (late) night. i'm not a cookie maker and NEVER have success with them, but these turned out SO good. we had so much fun making them together. it reminded me of the 'ol dating days!
oomah asked nana if it'd be ok for the boys to put some wall decals up in their temporary room to help make it feel like their own special space. they had the best time taking turns deciding where they should go!
our cousin, colette, loving on knox. she's a great babysitter!
one of their very favorite things about living at nana's! mine, too. we sit in her room and she plays hymns for us! such a sweet time.
on friday of that week, lane had taken the day off. we spent the morning at the mall looking for me a coat and had lunch there, as well. that afternoon, ledger wasn't feeling a nap so he cuddled with me instead. while i was playing with my phone, ledger said, "let's take a picture together." sure, love.
friday night, after the kiddos were asleep, we left nana in charge and went on what was supposed to be a dessert date. upon arriving at cheddar's, the munchies hit and we had some yummy queso before our cookie skillet. mmmmm...
on saturday, we went to a corn maze with a couple of families. it was fun and such beautiful weather. the perfect fall day.

that night, our friends', matt and amber, came over. we were finally able to introduce knox oliver to oliver dean. they're only 5 months apart! they'll be good buddies in no time :)
