crazy to think how intense the month of november was, mainly due to my mom's diagnosis of melanoma. on november 1st, we woke up to the news of her diagnosis. so thankful that december 1st was welcomed knowing she was cancer-free! still praising god for his healing. here are the updates that i posted during the month!
this was my heart's prayer while she was in surgery. either way the outcome, this was cry!
surgery report.
her first appt with the oncologist at md anderson.
this is the verse that i prayed for her the day of her appointments.

surgery report.
on tuesday the 20th, she and lauren headed back to dallas where she stayed until i came down there on the following sunday. on monday morning, mom, knox and i headed down to houston for follow-up with the plastic surgeon.
after posting the above update on wednesday afternoon, we began packing up and cleaning the condo. i was actually giving knox a bath that evening when mom called out that the PA had called with a GOOD report! we were ecstatic! we were also very thankful that we hadn't started home yet where we would've needed to turn around. the oncologist saw her thursday afternoon and released her! she will have to go back every 3 months for the first year for scans and such, but we are just praising god for the immediate report!
these 2 had lots of bonding time. a sweet story...on monday night before knox went to bed, mom had taught him the "praise the lord" trick. she had said/done it one time. he copied her and then went to bed. about midnight, he woke up fussing and would not lay back down so eventually, i just threw him in the bed with us. immediately, he was happy and WOUND up. the boy was bouncing on the bed and kept intensely throwing up his arms and then clapping his hands...over and over. we were dying laughing at how intense he was. he was just laughing and talking. my mom said to him at one point, "do you know something we don't?" after a bit, he went back to his bed without a fuss! he was already praising god for the miracle!
we always find a target no matter where we are! knox felt like such a big boy in the back of the basket.
one of my most favorite donuts are in houston. oh, how i could go for a dozen chocolate-filled donuts right now! we've grown up eating these in little rock. so yummy.
meanwhile, my big boys were staying with oomah and pops in muskogee. so thankful they were able to watch these guys for the week! canon real into telling jokes right now. i received this picture along with this joke..."what did the lion say?" hey there!"
this sweet boy turned 3 while we were gone! i was a HUGE mess that whole day not being with him. but oomah and eden made the day special for him and sent me lots of pics. when i talked to him on the phone and told him happy birthday, he said "thank you, mommy," so sweetly! birthday pancakes with sprinkles...
eden and the girls brought him a cookie cake and puppy balloon...which now resides in the super tall ceilings of oomah's church!
that evening, they got to make birthday cupcakes!
the most chummy they've ever been with santa!
oomah said they did this every day after getting the mail :)
