baby update...

here's our sweet alien baby...

NOTE: THIS MAY BE TOO MUCH INFORMATION. READ AT YOUR DISCRETION!

we had our second prenatal doctor visit today. it was originally scheduled for thursday, but we had to move it up to this morning. the thursday before we left for florida i started bleeding. it lasted about 36 hours then stopped. at my original appointment, our doctor saw a little pocket of blood on the outside of the uterus. he said this is very common, and a lot of time it will absorb or show itself. so when i saw the blood, i called the nurse and she confirmed this is what it probably was, and to call if it continued or became heavier. so fast forward to last wednesday in florida. i woke up with a different kind of bleeding and became panicked. i figured 2 days of walking tons had triggered it. so my answer to the problem...a wheelchair! that's right, lane pushed me around for 3 days in a wheelchair. the bleeding has continued on and off since then. i called the doctor last week to see about moving my appointment up. so this morning we got up and went to the doctor, and they had to reschedule for this afternoon because he was called away to a c-section. we went back at noon and waited FOREVER. when he came in, he asked how pregnant life was and i told him what had been going on. he immediately did an ultrasound. we saw the baby right away and he measured it. i'm 11wks 4days and it measured 11wks 6days...good thing! next he focused on the heart and we could see the red and blue blood flow...very cool! he picked up the heartbeat. it was strong! it was such a wonderful feeling to hear the heartbeat. the blood sack is still there. you can see it in the area above the white line that is above the baby. he said i will continue to bleed for the next 3ish weeks, and then it should be reabsorb or have been expelled. he gave me signs that i should watch out for and told me to rest. i'm also on an antibiodic just in case an infection would want to start up. i go back in 3 weeks for another ultrasound to check its status. anyway, all that to say that the baby is fine and we are so thankful. please keep the baby in your prayers! i pray it will continue to grow as it should and that the blood will not affect it.

"you can see it in the area above the white line that is above the baby." I immediately scrolled up.

Congratulations again. More when I see you.
