i took him to the doctor this morning after a restless night. she swabbed him for flu and rsv, and the rsv came back positive. canon has never had it, but had some bronchiolitis last year where we needed a nebulizer for his meds. she did a breathing treatment in the office, and he sounded better right away. of course, as it wears off, he starts wheezing again. we are to do them around the clock every 4 hours, and then he goes for a recheck in the morning. it's such a scary virus when a baby as young as he is has it. if only he could clear his throat and blow his nose!
do you remember this sweet little 6 month old baby from a previous post? it breaks my heart when my babies are sick. you can always tell when they truly don't feel good :( while ledger and i were at the doctor, lane took canon to the hospital outpatient lab to get his work-up done (that was supposed to be done back in december...oops). he had a ton of labs for different reasons why he may be so small. one they had to stimulate his sweat glands for 5 minutes then he had to wear a watch-like device that collected sweat for 30 minutes??? anyways, the doctor had already received a couple of the results back this afternoon and they were both normal! the most exciting news of the day is that i get to collect canon's poo in a large container for 72 hours....that will be a lovely smelling 45 minute car ride to deposit it at the hospital!i'm glad we finally did it. i think i subconsciously kept putting it off because i was scared they would find something. consciously, i kept putting it off because i had a newborn, it's been freezing the past 3 months, and it's very difficult taking both kids somewhere by myself! i'm going to leave you with a pic lane took on his phone while they were waiting at the hospital. lane said he kept pushing and pulling chairs back and forth across the room...
