pumpkin painting...

this past friday, we loaded up and made one of my very favorite trips of the year. i LOVE the pumpkin patch, and always look forward to taking the boys, even though they've never really gotten into it! this year, they liked it more, especially ledger. my kids would live outside if it was acceptable. i, also, look forward to the pics lane gets out there! he's working on them in between his busy schedule and i can't wait to see them all!

we always let the boys pick out a pumpkin appropriate to their size. they also picked a teeny, tiny one for knox! they are SO into "projects" right now so we thought it'd be fun for them to paint their pumpkins since they aren't really at the carving age. this morning, we ran and got some paint brushes that i could just trash when we were done!

canon worked very hard on his for a good 30 minutes. he was concerned when paint started getting on him, but embraced it when i told him it would wash off!

ledger, on the other hand, lost interest within minutes and indulged in a little porch and body painting! he's such a mess, but we wouldn't trade his ornery self for anything!

while the boys created their masterpieces, i worked on a project i had been wanting to do for awhile. i just want to remember every little detail about the boys at this age. they're so fun and sweet! i wasn't thinking though to leave room to add knox's handprint. good thing it'll be tiny, and i can just add it in somewhere! they, also, thought knox's pumpkin needed some paint so we decided his name would be good :)

proud, little picassos.
