christmas weekend...

we headed to my mom's house for christmas on friday the 23rd after knox's doctors appointment. we were so anxious to be with our big boys again and they were excited to see knox!! plus, it's always fun to be with my family for more than a few hours.

for dinner, we headed to our favorite muskogee eatery, mahylon's bbq. yum. it seemed everyone in town brought their guests there, too! after the boys enjoyed a christmas book reading by gram, we put them to bed and played "the game of things". i love games. i love even more playing them with my family. very entertaining!

christmas eve morning was spent hanging out and doing food prep for the next 2 days. the boys colored pictures for santa. a job they took very seriously! we watched "the help" that afternoon. i hadn't seen it and it was worth all the hype. lauren has been telling the boys (usually ledger) the line, "you is smart. you is kind. you is important" for awhile now. they get excited and try to say it with her when she starts in!

that evening, we went to christmas eve service at lane's home church. it's probably my favorite christmas tradition! before we left, we had a little photo session.

on christmas eve, we always have a spread of appetizers and snacks for dinner. lane's parents and dylan came over. we just hung out and let the boys entertain us! they were very into pillow fighting that night.

another tradition for as long as i can remember is getting a new pair of pajamas on christmas eve. my mom found these rad superhero, footie jammies that the boys LOVE. they pretty much want to wear them every night!

christmas morning!! everyone except my boys (and us because of them) slept until 9. oh how times change! they were very patient waiting though :) it was so wonderful taking our time opening gifts and just enjoying the morning. we had some yummy cinnamon rolls and sausage-egg casserole for breakfast.

LOVE the wonder on their faces!

this picture cracks me up! it totally sums up the boys personalities. ledger rips right in and has it completely opened while canon is meticulously tearing small pieces off and moving it to the trash pile before going on to the next :)

enjoying one of chloe's presents!

after opening gifts and eating a big lunch, the boys were in need of a nap before opening their big gift from gram. they were very excited to play with their new train table! that evening, we took down all evidence of christmas. it made me anxious to get home and get my tree put away! we pulled out leftovers for dinner and played "boxers or briefs." such a good day all around!

and just for proof that knox was indeed there, celebrating his first christmas!

the cute progression of a yawn :)

some of knox's loot.

and just possibly the sweetest image of the day!

What great pictures! Your boys are so precious. Isn't it fun being the QUEEN of all these men? I hope you are adjusting well. I was just trying to remember what it was like having 3 boys in diapers and remembering nursing one in the floor, changing 1 and feeding another baby food all at the same time. It is such a blur and it wasn't even that long ago! It REALLY does go by so fast. Take care!
