friday, we headed to muskogee to spend part of the weekend with our family. with everyone having to be at their own church on sunday, we had decided to do our big dinner on saturday. we arrived early afternoon just as the boys' cousins were getting there. we forewent naps (risky little game!) so they could have some much needed playtime together! we spent a good 4 hours outside. it was a beautiful day!
lane's brothers and their families were in town, as well as his grandparents and aunt. we grilled burgers for dinner, did a little prep work for the big lunch and just hung out until late.
we have been wanting to get some updated pics of our family so we planned to get up saturday morning and head to the park. i always have high expectations when it comes to these things anyway, but i was so bummed when we walked outside and was nearly knocked over by the wind and cold. my mom met us there to snap the pics and try to keep the boys attention. they were freezing which made them whiny. and it's nearly impossible to get 3 kids to look at the camera! it was a disaster. i finally came to terms that we would have to try again another time!
it probably didn't help that the playground was nearby enticing them! ella and hudson and nora and cordie came to play with them. they were all smiles then!
the big boys having just as much (probably more) fun as the kiddos!
on your mark. get set. go!
once we got back to oomah and pop's house, it was a race against the rain to hunt easter eggs! canon loves this probably because he's super competitive...
ledger, on the other hand, found his first egg, stopped to open it, then sat there and ate the candy in it!
as we were finishing up the hunt, the rain started. the kids came inside to open their easter gifts. oomah gave them a bag full of goodies. lane's grammie gave them a cute hen that lays eggs.
my mom and chloe came over for lunch. we had a big 'ol traditional easter lunch that i ate way too much of! i could go for a plate of seconds right now. after the kids woke up from their nap, we headed home. i just realized i didn't take any pictures of ollie. i promise he was there! he actually was held the majority of the time...just what he loves! it was refreshing to spend time with our family :)

Oh my goodness, the boys got that same Mama Hen from their YaYa! Is that thing not hilarious?! Friends from our small group were dying laughing when I turned her on to sing and lay eggs for them. So odd!
