this past week...

like many days over the past 6 weeks, we spent most of our past week in muskogee. the drew moss' were going to be there so we headed down on tuesday to get some good play days in before lane joined us thursday evening. the boys LOVE, LOVE playing with their cousins!

before heading to muskogee, though, we spent the morning with chloe taking her to a couple of orthodontic appointments. she got her braces off! i still remember the day i got mine off. she kept saying how big she thought her teeth and lips felt! she's beautiful!

on wednesday morning, we headed to the park. we got some good play in before stopping for a picnic. that evening, the boys and i drove back to tulsa for church then headed straight back to oomah and pops' house.

thursday morning was spent playing outside. it was gorgeous weather! oomah even dug up the yard for a treasure dig. you better believe my guys were all over that! before lunch, canon, ledger and hudson took a dip in the pool to rinse off the copious amounts of dirt stuck to them. all boy those 3! :)

the boys jumped in on some cookie making action. they took turns dumping ingredients in. canon then turned the mixer on HIGH right after the flour was added. oops!

friday was spent playing inside as the temperature took a drastic dip. uncle tyler and aunt dee finally arrived that evening with pizza in hand ready to babysit my crew while lane and i went to our friends, jake and cassie's wedding rehearsal. lane and jake have been good buddies since birth. lane was in the wedding. it was so fun to celebrate with them!

saturday morning was a bit hectic rushing around to get ready for the 11am wedding. all the kiddos dressed in their fancy clothes! it was freezing and drizzly out...the perfect fall morning!

we sat on the back row and all the kids did surprisingly well! my kids rarely play on my phone, but i made an exception and bought a new game. after canon got bored with that, he started taking pics! nice dome, levi.

knox had been running fever off and on during the week. he had a rough night on tuesday where he cried from 10-4am. yikes. when we got home from the wedding, i noticed his belly button was swollen and red. i took his temperature and it was 102.3. it made me really nervous at how fast his belly button had changed so i decided i would drive back to tulsa and take him to urgent care.

when we got there, we waited for a good hour. when the doctor finally came in, she immediately sent us over to the pediatric ER. she feared it was an abscess and they didn't have equipment to treat that. we were called back right away once at the ER. within 30 minutes of being there, the doctor said we would be admitted so he could receive IV antibiotics. it all happened really fast and i was shocked that we would be staying.

thankfully, his ultrasound came back showing no abscess that needed draining so we were released at 11:30 that morning and sent home on oral antibiotics. i was so excited that i would be able to make it to the church in time for lane's surprise party that the youth group was throwing him. we missed him being surprised, but it was so wonderful getting to share in that! we are loved well.

sunday evening, we went to our "last" saturday (sunday this time) night dinner at the stewart's house. crazy how fast 4 years have gone since we started going over there. canon was just a little guy. it's been  such a refreshing time of our week for so long. so much laughter! we will miss that crew so much!

so here we are 4 days before the big move. still hasn't really hit me yet. it's going to be ugly when it does...complete with ugly cry! definitely a bittersweet time.

on a sad note, right before leaving the hospital sunday morning, i heard heartbreaking news on twitter that one of my favorite arkansas blogger's husband had been killed in a car accident the night before. such a tragic event that i can't even begin to imagine what sweet julee is feeling. after 2 years of struggling with infertility, they were blessed with a little girl, preslee, last november. she's just 3 weeks older than knox. so thankful that they have each other! my heart has been aching for her ever since. she's been in my dreams and consumed my thoughts. i can't stop praying for her. please, please be praying for these girls and their families. matt was a news anchor and the tv station streamed the memorial service on their website this afternoon. it was a beautiful service and he was an amazing man that everyone spoke highly of! i'm so thankful that they have the hope of jesus, but that doesn't ease the pain of the loss for them.
